Do you think this is too late to have a birthday party?
I'm looking to book DS's 5th birthday party at this fun Kids n Shape place in Howard Beach and the only slot they have left available is on a Friday evening before his birthday from 7pm-9pm. It will also be after school. Do you think this is too late to have a birthday party? Would you go to a party around that time? I know its dinner time and we will provide pizza, food and drinks for the parents.

I think it wuold be fine. Especially for 5 year olds. If it was 2 year olds, maybe not, but I think at that age, it should be ok- and it's a Friday night too.
I'd go!

Re: Do you think this is too late to have a birthday party?
I would probably go if it were a good friend of DD's but I wouldn't be thrilled with the time. Personally even for 5 year olds a party that ends at 9 pm would be late for us. Plus my DD's are done eating dinner by 7 pm so I wouldn't want them to have pizza that late.

I think it would be ok for a 5yo.
I know I would not go for a 3yo party. My kids get ready for bed at around 7. They eat dinner at 5:30.
eta: I think you are better off with a different venue if that is the only time slot available. You will get a better turnout.

I'm honestly not a fan of that time either and I think I may have to opt for a later date during the weekend. I don't want to be inconsiderate to the children's routines and the parents.

I wouldn't love that time to be honest. I'd probably go anyway, but I like my DD to be in bed by 9 the latest, and because I'm old and going blind, I'd hate driving at that time because I can't see and I always miss the entrance to the Belt over there .

A party that ends at 9pm for a 5 yr old feels really late.

Re: Do you think this is too late to have a birthday party?
I think it is late, sorry. DS turns 5 next week and I think he could stay out that late, but it is not the best for him the next morning. I think the latest I would be ok with having a party end is 7 pm for a 5 year old.

Sorry but I think that is too late for 5 year olds.. I would decline an invitation for a party that ends at 9pm.

I would go not to be rude but I would not be happy. People are just getting home from work and now they have to rush to go the party. It seems like a lot.

Wouldn't be too thrilled either. That means the kids aren't going to eat until after 8 and by the time everyone gets out of there at 9ish and get home, its 930 and then the kids have to be up for school the next day. My 5 year old is in bed by 8, 8:30 the latest on school nights.

She said its on a Friday night, so there is no school the next day. I don't think its too late for a weekend.
