need advice on my shower- sensitive subject, sids related
The daughter of one of my very close friends passed away from sids about 8 years ago. They had spent a lot of time in the nicu bc she was premature, and became close with the hospital. Since the babys death, they have become very involved in educating others on sids, travelling nationwide to speak at conferences and they also started a nonprofit to raise money, for grief counselling and to buy more "giraffes" or the incubators in the nicu at their hospital.
How can i incorporate something into my shower to help their cause? Its going to be a giraffe theme, but could i do something, lets say like a 50/50 raffle to donate some funds to them? Or some creative wishing well thing? Or any other ideas appreciated.

Can you do smaller favors and make a donation instead. Then put a favor tag on them saying a donation was made to the giraffe fund.

That's such a sweet idea!! I agree that making a donation in lieu of a party favor would be nice! We did that for my wedding with St.Jude's. It was my MIL's favorite charity and she passed away 4yrs before our wedding.
ETA: This actually gives me a really good idea for my shower!!

You can get those little picture frames really cheap from oriental trading co and put the tags in the picture frames. Then maybe have a little card with each frame explaining the charity and your friends story

You can do like little candy boxes for place cards or little pouches of kisses at the table with a card attached explaining.
