Whooping cough?
Considering the projected increase in cases, do you plan on getting a booster shot?
Do you work with children?

Re: Whooping cough?
I had one about a year ago. My doctor said you need a booster every 10 years.
I want DH, my inlaws and my parents to get one too.

Re: Whooping cough?
I got it when I had last DS. Glad I did, there have been 3 cases of whooping cough in our school district. I don't work at the school but my oldest son goes there (who is vaccinated) but who knows if he can still bring it home.

Whooping cough?
I got the booster a few years ago and had whopping cough about 8 yrs ago (worst 3 mo ever), so I think I should be ok, but I'm going to ask my DH to get it and maybe my folks too.

My BIL is allergic to the booster shot so he can't get it. I asked 3 different drs and, they all concluded that the baby would be fine to see him on a regular bases as long as her NEVER coughs or lets his saliva get near the babes face. Also, he should wash his hands and stay away if he is sick, but that goes for anyone.

Whooping cough?
How about for yourself now, as in being a woman who is pregnant?

Re: Whooping cough?
I'm in the hospital now, just had my baby and they offered the shot to me and my husband the morning after the birth. We got it and all the grandparents got it. My mother went to a walk in to get hers since her dr did not have it available and they said there is a large outbreak of it at the moment and they wished more families were as proactive about getting it. Better safe then sorry.. None of us work with children but lets face it we all come into contact with kids at some point why not protect ourselves and the baby.
