Questions about GD
Just diagnosed with GD and I'm wondering what to expect. I only know I need to go to diabetes counseling so far. Will I require any extra prenatal tests if my GD is controlled by diet?

Re: Questions about GD
yes, you will be getting growth sonos and possibly non-stress tests. but if you continue to control it with diet, i believe that is it.

Re: Questions about GD
basically more growth sonos.. if you need more, like insulin, you will need regular non stress test and biophysical profiles..

Re: Questions about GD
I had GD with my DD. I was on insulin 4X/day and had to test my sugars after every meal and when I woke up. Towards the end of my pregnancy I was at the OB every week for sonos and to measure the baby's movement and HB. GD sucks but you get use to managing it. DD was born happy and healthy and as soon as I delivered her the GD went away. In fact, it started to go away in the last few weeks of my pregnancy. You will manage.......good luck!!

Questions about GD
Thanks for all the info! My numbers have been good so far, so hopefully I'll be able to manage it with diet all the way through. I'm really hoping for a natural birth too, so I hope this doesn't completely derail my birth plan.
