Holbrook, Ronkonkoma, Lk Ronkonkoma area...no gas?
We really would like to buy a house in this area, but every listing has oil heat. Is there no gas in the streets in this area? If there is, and you live in this area, why have you not converted? What is the cost of oil for your home in the winter? I have heard that oil is ridiculously expensive and you need deliveries frequently. We are looking for ranch style home. Thanks!

My area of Ronkonkoma (north of lake) does not have gas. When we looked, we did see houses with gas but they were on the other side of the lake and they were all in the Connetquot SD. We have a high ranch and we paid $145/mo w/ Petro and we had 3 fill ups in the winter but didn't need all 3. They just come every few months. In the summer we've been paying a lot less since obviously we don't need a delivery in the summer. We're just paying off the balance of the winter deliveries.

My ILs are in that area and have oil and a cesspool. My MIL hates the oil and constantly complains about it, but I'm not sure why.

We're south of the lake in Ronkonkoma, and we have gas.

I lived in Lk Ronkonkoma, north of Portion Rd and we had gas.
