Re: Disney hotels

Tania,

What are you looking for and what's your price range? Disney hotel prices vary WIDELY. For example, Bay Lake Tower has Villas so it costs several times as much as a Value or Moderate resort for example.

My favorites:

Value Resort - Pop Century. Clean, well-themed resort, 2 double beds. Really fun kid-friendly theme. Walls a bit thin, rooms small, like any value, but stilll a great place to sleep. Pop century does not share buses with any other resort. They have a great food court and the layout is such that you're never a very far walk from the buses (All Star Music for example can put you very far from the buses!)
If you have little girls, then a Little Mermaid room at Art of Animation would also be a great choice, but as of right now it's not included in many discounts since it's so new (hasn't opened yet!)

Moderate Resort -I Love Port Orleans French Quarter. it's small and intimate and just very very pretty. it has a cool dragon pool slide. Sometimes shares buses with Port Orleans Riverside. At either Port Orleans, there is a boat to Downtown Disney. Moderate resorts have larger rooms, some have Queen size beds, and in addition to food courts, they have full service restaurants on property.

Deluxe- There's the most diversity in the Deluxe Category in both price and theming. The rooms are larger, they have Queen beds and ful service restaurants, many have character meals right at the resort. In most cases, they are exceptionally close to the parks. The most recommended resort for first time visitors is the Polynesian. it has as incredible theme, an awesome zero-entry pool, a view of fireworks from the beach (or from your room, if you want to pay for that category), it's right across the lake from Magic Kingdom and has boat and monorail access. You can't get easier than that!

I personally really like Bay lake Tower and the Contemporary because you can WALK to Magic Kingdom. That's priceless to me. Many people don't like the theme at the contemporary though. They feel it's too modern and too much like a standard hotel room.

Beach Club/Yacht Club and Boardwalk are at a great location for Disney Studios and EPCOT (walk or boat to both), but bus to MK.

Wilderness Lodge is another favorite. Quick boat ride to MK and incredible theming! it also tends to be more affordable than some of the others.

I have stayed in all categories and had GREAT vacations in all categories, so you can definitely have an amazing vacation regardless of your price range
