Delay
I was supposed to start an IVF cycle this week, per the Dr. (who has been saying it for weeks now). Got a call from my assigned nurse and found out the timing isn't going to work because the lab is closing for a week in August (routine) and it will be right around the time I'd need ER, etc. I know one more month isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it's frustrating that we've thought out our schedules, got ourselves mentally ready, were days away from starting bcp and now found out we have to wait another cycle. Just a quick vent. Thx for listening!

I am so sorry for the delay... Can they put you on BCP's so that you won't have to miss this cycle?

A whole cycle........they postponed my start by a week and I freaked! I am so sorry, but you are right - in the grand scheme of things one month is nothing.

why cant they just keep you on BCP for an extra week so that when you start stim meds it will be the week the lab is closed and then your ER will be the following week? Why have to wait a whole month?? WHat RE is this? I never heard of a lab closing

Re: Delay
Thank you for all of the replies. I'm probably just confused by everything but the nurse calculated it out and basically I'd be right around the time for ER when the lab will be closed. They don't want to make me go through everything just to find out I can't do it. They aren't letting anyone start stimming past Aug 6. If I go on bcp early next week (which is when I was scheduled) Aug 6 won't be enough days (they want me on for 17-21 days). Who knows...I was pushing back at first but then I couldn't help but think everything happens for a reason so I'm just going to let it be. We'll do one more natural cycle and then hopefully Sept will be our month. To the pp - the RE is LIIVF.

Re: Delay
Right, some RE's will let you stay on bcp for a week longer, thereby starting stims later but, like you said, let it be. Just go with the flow!!
