Aruba - Bucuti Resort

Hi All -

Has anyone been to the Bucuti Resort? My DH and I just booked for our 5 year anniversary - We went to Aruba on our Honeymoon and stayed at the Occidental, we wanted to try something different.

I've seen amazing things on trip advisor, but wanted to ask you girls - if you have any experiences that you could share.

Also do you know how far it is from the town with all the shops and cruiseship docks?

Aruba - Bucuti Resort

Went there on our HM last October and LOVED it!!!! Its very quiet and romantic - almost everyone there is celebrating an anniversary or on their HM. (They put little hearts on your door that say celebrating HM, or 5 yr anniversary, or whatever - very cute) The staff was very helpful and friendly. The owner is usally around and is very involved in running the place. There are no kids under 18 allowed. You never have to fight for a lounge at the beach or pool - no matter what time of day you go. When you go to the beach or pool, they give you a red flag on a little pole - you stick it in the sand and they come right over to bring you another drink! A buffet breakfast is included - it pretty decent- so we usually just skipped lunch. Ate dinner there one night - not the best, but certainly not terrible. Its about a 5-10 minnute cab ride to the high rise section ($9 each way). Feel free to ask any other questions.

we honeymooned at bucuti in 2008 and LOVED it! it's very quiet and the pool is awesome! the staff is very helpful and nice. we had a great experience. for food, we usually ate at their breakfast buffet in the morning and then went out for nice dinners. there are so many awesome restaurants in aruba!

We loved the Bucuti! We went in June 2010. I loved that the resort was kid free. It definitely made for a relaxing vacation. We would spend all day at the beach and then take a cab each night to the high rise section for dinner. It took less than 10 minutes from what I remember. We're going back to Aruba next June but this time we'll have DD in tow so no Bucuti for us.
