i don't think dh would appreciate me taking a pic of him while he's  
it was a struggle just to get the bedspread on my side of the bed to look half decent in order to take the pic... now he's pissy because i turned on the light!!

I like them tall - too low and they interfere with other things on the nightstand. I also find it easier to read a book in bed with a taller lamp.

I agree. We recently got taller ones , b/c DH was going blind!
I think your yours are in good proportion to your headboard, too.

I think yours look good, for anyone else that is looking...here's a picture of ours.
We got them in Lowe's for $24.88 each and I love them. They are 18.5" H....the item # is 58603 and the model # is T-7546. Image Attachment(s):
