Bermuda activities with young kids...

We are going on a cruise to Bermuda again this year. I'm trying to finalize our plans. We will have 3 days in Bermuda.

We did the zoo/aquarium last trip so we don't want to repeat it unless it is raining.

So for those with young kids - should we do the glass botoom boat trip through the cruise or the caves. The girls are interested in the caves but I understand you have to take a tour rather than self tour. Not sure if my 3 and 5 yr old will want to do the tour. Also if you did the glass bottom was it a boat you sit around a hole in the center of the boat or the kind you go down into the hull and sit in little seats like a sub. Was it rough? The girls and DH get motion sickness so nervous about this option. Not sure if we should skip both and just do the beaches.

We also have 2 beach days planned. Just trying to decide for our 3rd day.

Dh and I did the caves when we were there a few years ago on a rainy day. There were a ton of stairs and lots of walking. The tour and caves themselves were ok but the kids would probably enjoy it if they have never seen them before. It is not a fully day activity - maybe just a few hours at most...
haven't done the glass bottom boats but have heard good things about them

How was the tour? was it constantly moving or was it a lot of talking. My girls are good but very active so I don't know how patiently they would wait for a real tour - KWIM? The walking would probably be okay with them and they don't weigh that much that DH and I could carry them back up if they got too tired. I'm just concerned they won't be patient for the tour. Versus just walking ourselves through the caves.

It was a few years ago but from what I remember it went quickly and they generally brought the group into a large area and then started talking while people wandered around and explored the area themselves so it wasn't a structured kind of "look at this" "then look at that" kinda of tour- if you KWIM? that's why i thougth it would be ok for the kids. DH and I were wandering around on our own looking at things down there and didn't feel like we needed to not talk or stay close to our tour guide.

We have never done a tour with the girls so I'm not sure that they would do okay. They get restless in stores but do okay at a museum or place like the zoo etc but we don't do tours so not sure what to expect. I just want them disturbing anyone else who is trying to enjoy their tour. Can you leave the group and go back up if needed (i.e. if one girl decides mid tour she needs to use the potty - - and yes we would take them before it starts but they are notorious for going, then getting to wherever and having to go again at the least convenient times...Chat Icon )

I think so. It was a very laid back tour. Nothing too formal or fancy. I remember there being kids that took the tour too. I don't think it would be a problem at all. Just don't expect to spend an entire day there - a few hours tops.

Thanks! We usually tour in the mornings and do pool or kids club afternoons. We are traveling with my patents so we are partially on their schedule.
