Jetblue doesn't supply the bag but it's something you can buy at BRU or BBB. I flew with DS and didn't put it in the bag and it was just fine. Be sure to ask where it will be at your destination. Some airports have "oversized" luggage belts. I didn't realize and would have been there a lot longer if someone hadn't mentioned it to me.
I brought his bc with me but they never checked it.

Re: Traveling jet blue
I would get your own. I saw them putting basically a garbage bag on one and taping it.

I've never seen them use their own bags. I have seen people put them on with no bag, I like to use the red gate check bags that bbb sells.
I also always travel with a photo copy of the birth certificate, but have never been asked for it.

I bring my own bag - it's like a laundry bag. I love it because most people I fly with don't use them and it makes it easier to spot.
As for birth certificate, if your child has a seat, you don't have to provide ID for them but, I usually bring a copy just in case. If you have a lap child, you are supposed to have a copy of the birth certificate with you but, I have never been asked for it.

Re: Traveling jet blue
You can gate check the carseat. Bring it right to the door of the plane. It will be waiting for you at the door when you leave the plane. Get the bag either. So it will not get dirty.

Re: Traveling jet blue
We bring my DDs seat on (she's 3 and a peanut), but, we check my DS' booster seat. The last time we went we doubled up the clear lawn bags that the town gives and put the seat in there. I wrote his name all over the bag with the flight info in permanent marker (in place of a luggage tag). When we landed in Orlando, the seat was in the "Oversized Luggage". When we landed at JFK, I believe it came around with the regular luggage. Just ask a worker where your seat will be when you land. (My DS seat was fine. We actually did this 2x).

Re: Traveling jet blue
If you got DD her own seat, why would you not bring the car seat on to the plane and use it? That is what we did the last time we flew with DS (who is also 2) and it worked out great. It is safer and he was more comfortable.
(Edited for spelling)

Re: Traveling jet blue
I don't think they supply a bag for it.
I just flew Jet Blue last week with my DS who will be 2 in Sept. We got him his own seat and do not bring his car seat. We ended up renting one in FL and it was sooo much easier!!
He was 100% fine in the plane, sat on our lap during take off and then sat by himself and played.
Forgot to add, I brought a copy of his Birth Cert just in case but they did not ask me for anything.
