Cost of alterations for a dress?
I'm a bridesmaid in a wedding...dress is a halter; the back of it needs to be taken in a bit, and the hem needs to be taken in a bit. Not a rush job; I have two weeks. About how much should this cost?
One of the girls in the bridal party spent more on this than the dress, and she went to a regular dry cleaner (which is what I plan to do as well)...please tell me it won't be that crazy expensive!

It could be more than the dress. That's why most places you buy dresses from will cap the alteration price. The wedding I'm in in sept the dress place is capped at $85. Try a dry cleaner first but also try where you got the dress

Re: Cost of alterations for a dress?
Thanks...just went this morning and it wasnt as bad as I had expected!
Going to the dress shop would've been an option, but they would've added a 'rush' fee due to time constraints...the wedding is in two weeks (they only got engaged a couple months ago, too!)
Thanks for the heads-up!
