"Sprinkle" and Registry Question

So my mom has mentioned wanting to give me a "sprinkle" since by the time this baby arrives it will have been 4.5 yrs. since I had my DD. I'm okay with that, I think it will be cute but she mentioned I should register again too. There are things I do need, new burp cloths, diapers, bibs, etc. (mostly small stuff, just a few bigger things but nothing expensive) but my question is............do you think it's tacky to register twice? My mom doesn't think so, she thinks it's a great idea. What do you think? Good idea or tacky? TIA! Chat Icon

I think its a good idea. I did it! When you really start to think about all of the stuff you need, it adds up! My DD will be 5 when I have my 2nd DD and we need so much stuff still!

Re: "Sprinkle" and Registry Question

You're going to get lots of different opinions on this. My mom, for example, thinks it's tacky to have a shower in the first place and says it's "like having your hand out" begging. But she can be quite a judgmental b*tch.

Personally, I don't register because I think people want to buy me things. I actually don't expect anyone to buy me ANYTHING from my registry this time (they barely did last time and I did have a shower despite my mom lol). But I want all the discounts, coupons, etc, the stores are willing to give me! So I did another BBB and Amazon registry and even did a PBK registry this time. It's really all for me. If people are interested in finding them and seeing what items I plan to buy, that's great. But I'm not going around telling people "oh, buy me stuff!! I registered!!" or anything. (It's not like anyone does that anyway!!! Even with their first!)

I also put a ton of stuff on my registry for DD, who will be almost 2 when her brother comes. Like I said, I want the discounts lol.

Re: "Sprinkle" and Registry Question

Thanks!! The kids will be 4.5 yrs apart so there are things I do need and I KNOW my family.................they will be asking my mom, "What does she want? What does she need?". I never *expect* anything (I mean if I got nothing that would be totally fine, honest) but knowing my family, they will go nuts even though it's baby #2. They bought up my registry for baby #1. Like the above poster mentioned, I like the idea of it too for the discounts and coupons, if nothing else. And at least if anyone asks my mom what I need she can direct them there for some ideas. I do the Wish List every for my DD for Xmas and her bday and they LOVE that so I'm guessing they will be okay with the registry but I just want to be sure.

Since it would be a small thing with just my close family and a few close friends I guess I will set it up but just not make a big thing about it. It's there is someone needs an idea, nobody needs to feel obligated, and I will be grateful for anything that is given to me. Chat Icon

Nothing wrong with it... After all, you are going to need some things for DC#@.

I registered but my registry is so much smaller than it was the first time around. I'm not having a sprinkle but I know some firends and family are going to buy off the regustry and I am also using the registry as a shopping list for myself to prepare for #2.

Re: "Sprinkle" and Registry Question

DD will be two years older than this baby, and I just set up a registry. There isn't a ton on it (bibs, extra Boppy cover, receiving blankets, crib sheets, etc) but it's an easy way to keep a list of what I need.

Re: "Sprinkle" and Registry Question

Thx again. Glad to hear it is not so unusual. Just didn't want to seem tacky. I love registries but I know some people get weird with them so I just wanted some input. Chat Icon

nothing wrong with it.......

now if you were registering $400+ single items on the second kid people "may" think its a little greedy......

but in all honesty, don't we all need new sheets, bibs, clothes, blankets etc..... after what our other kid has done to theirs. Chat Icon
