Ouchhhhhhhhhhhh
So yesterday I saw my doc and to my surprise was told he would be checking my cervix. i thought no big deal. they did it 3 weeks ago all was good. NOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I cant believe how much it hurt!!! It was to the point that I was about to scream!! I was even pulling myself up to get him out of me.
This has neverrrrrrrr happend to me before and Ive had plenty of internals. He didnt seem concerned at all and because of all the pain I forgot to ask why the heck did it hurt so much.
Has this happened to any of you?

Yes, I'm 35 weeks tomorrow... and she has checked my cervix twice now and it was sooooo painful. She also seemed surprised (normally, i dont even flinch) but I am so sore down there since around 30-32 weeks. So... yes, you are not alone. it got tight and painful i guess.

Yes, I never had an internal when I was preggo with DD #1 prior to being in the hospital. When they were checking my cervix in the hospital, it was the most.painful.thing.ever. I was pulling myself away from the dr.

I had to go to the hospital at 16 weeks due to some bleeding and they did an internal / checked the cervix. The doctor warned that if i have to pee, it will probably be more uncomfortable than if i have an empty bladder.
Not sure what one has to do with the other but figured i'd share.
Sorry you hurt

it felt like he was tearing me apart inside. i thought for sure didnt lube up.
again. this is the first time ive every felt this. all past internals didnt hurt one bit

hmm i havent had an internal so far. i know for next time he said he was going to take a culture at 36 weeks for that strep test but that was it.. sounds like its painful

I know! I have been getting internals each visit -by weekly first 26 weeks and now wekly since 26 w - it never hurt, uncomfortable but not painful, well last week at my 29 w check up he did an internal as usual and it hurt so much that I wanted ro scream , just like you kept pulling myself up...
Going again tomorrow and I am dreading it , but this time I'm going to ask why it hurts so much now .

I have had internals and never had pain. Discomfort but never pain.
I know every woman is different and our bodies (ESPECIALLY down there) are SUPER sensitive ight now.
Both my SIL's (not related to each other) told me stories of painful internals and one even has pain during her annual exam.

I never remember pain with the first PG and didn't have any painful internals until 20 weeks this time. It actually made me scream F*&^!!! Then I wondered how I will ever go through labor.  But my other internals since haven't been bad.

I haven't had any yet this pregnancy, but I remember with DS they were painful. They actually made me fear labor more.

yup, went yesterday at 35w3d and had the strep b culture and then he surprised me and did internal. i literally jumped and was grabbing at the exam table. i was like next time warn a girl sheesh!!!!!!!

im 39w and have had 3 internals so far. my doc starts them at 37w. the strep culture test was a breeze it was literally a second and nothing was felt. however the internals suck. i cringe every week knowing that i am going to get one. i cling to the side of the table as shes doing it, it only lasts a few seconds but it hurts ! im not looking forward to labor when they are checking like a million times !

i have had them as well.. i had one at 26 weeks that hurt.. but sice then..i am now 38 weeks, they have never hurt. there is a lot of pressure, but no pain.. even when my doc pushed down on the baby to feel if i was dilated.. no pain.. just uncomfortable.. i tok deep breaths through it as well.. and no pain..

I had to go to L&D a few days ago, and they did an internal OMG it hurt so bad I squeezed my husbands hand like crazy the entire time.

Yes..omg...after they induced me the resident ob kept coming and checking. OMG...I screamed soooo friggin loud every time. One time I screamed "Leave me alone!!!!!!". It was awful. Then I got my epi...and then everything was fabulous

My doc doesn't do internals until 40wks. I had one with ds1 and it sucked. Then when I was in labor it sucked every time they checked me. OUCH!

SoI asked him, he said it's bc baby is bigger now and everything is pushing down more/is lower so you are more sensitive .
