Brushing their teeth
We bought a Winnie the Pooh electric toothbrush. The intrigue of it was enough to get him excited to brush his teeth!

Re: Brushing their teeth
We sing a song:
Brush brush brush your teeth Brush your little teeth Up and down and all around you got to get 'um clean.
Then we take turns. He goes then its my turn. He used to want to brush mine sometimes too.
People have also made a game of seeeing what food they found...is that a hot dog back there? when did you eat cheese?

Re: Brushing their teeth
We bought him an electric toothpaste with some character on it (that he picked out) and it got him interested enough to start. He would stand on his little step stool next to one of us so he could watch us brush our teeth and then he would try to do the same with his.

Re: Brushing their teeth
I make it part of her morning and bedtime routine, and make a big deal about getting the "yuckies" off her teeth. I also go through everything she ate so we can make sure to get them all off and give her a turn to do it too. If she's really cranky or tired though, I just use the Spiffies wipes which she doesn't mind since they're tasty. Image Attachment(s):

Re: Brushing their teeth
I wish I knew how to get my 20 month old to STOP brushing his teeth! He's obsessed!
We have a ducky toothbrush and Thomas train toothpaste for him and he gets all excited just seeing them. I let him do it himself because frequently he gets mad when I try to intervene. I figure even if he's not brushing "properly" at this point, he's getting into the routine and learning good hygiene. The finer points will come soon enough.

Re: Brushing their teeth
I sit on my almost 4 year old. That's the only way it gets done well. He'll let me brush them a little if he's sitting up.
