Right now I'm trying to decide between booking the Hydranga Inn and the Ivy lodge. Has anyone been to either and have a suggestion? Or perhaps another b&b that I'm missing?
Also, is 2 nights enough or should we do 3?
TIA

I don't knw the price difference, but we always stay at Pearl's B&B. We love it there.

DH and I are trying to plan a trip to Newport. We looked into both of these B&Bs and neither one has availability during the time we'd like to go.
The other issue is that I've heard Newport doesn't have the best beaches so I'd really like to stay somewhere that has a pool and I haven't really come across any B&Bs that have one. Have u come across any? What have you heard about the beaches?

I haven't come across anything with a pool but I also haven't looked. We're planning on going mid Sept. so it'll probably be too chilly for swimming anyway. You might have to check out the hotels though if you want a pool.

Westayed at the Newport Beach Hotel and Suites a couple of weeks ago and we loved it. Its right across the street from Easton Beach and they had an indoor heated pool.

We stayed at the Ivy Lodge and really liked it, although we had the room on the top floor and I wouldn't recommend that (DH is tall and the ceilings are sloped). The breakfast was good, the porch is great to sit and have a glass of wine and the parking is plentiful. Good location for visiting the mansions and not far from town or the Cliff Walk.
