Ughh..I have such heartburn
Its so bad...I have been taking Tums like crazy...did anyone ever hear of taking Pepsid for heartburn during pregnancy? Tums takes the edge off but doesnt make it go away completely. TIA!

I am not sure if you can take pepsid.
I take tums WITH skim milk
and I detest milk- but I guzzel it cold...

I agree- I had bad heartburn yesterday and today- it went away both times with cold milk.

Which tums do you take? I find the Smoothie kind work much better than the original. Plus the Cocoa and creme are really yummy.

I am telling you..if you do this, you will not have heartburn!! Go and buy Pepcid AC complete tabs..(i buy the mixed berry). They are a little pricey (like $7 for 10 tabs or so...) however they are a godsend!!! One tab works for hours...and they are very safe during pregnancy.
One caution about dairy...milk may help symptoms at first, but dairy has been known to cause worse hearburn which I hadn't realized early on.

My doctor said it was okay to take Pepcid if it got really bad. I have a couple of times- I only have taken a half of a tab and it works wonders.

I have been having the worst heartburn also - it even kept waking me up all night the other night - to the point where I had to sleep sitting up!
My doctor told me I could take Zantac 150 twice a day - it prevents the heartburn, instead of treating it as it occurs. My DH had the ingenious idea of getting it at Costco since I think that I will go through a lot - definitely MUCH cheaper than Eckerd!
I also got a HUGE bottle of Tums, just incase!

I swear by Zantac too! My doc recommends Zantac 75 though so be sure to check with your OB on this.
