I like that brushed bronzy color
Hubby thinks brushed nickel

We actually have a mix, because we have white doors on different levels of the house (we have a split) and we didn't change them all.
I like both. I think it's just a matter of personal preference, and depends on the formality and decor of the space.
We have brushed nickel on our doors in the den (doors to closets, basement, half bath), and I like how it looks. It's a very "clean" look.
Oiled bronze is the most "trendy" finish now, I would say... all of the builders are using it in new construction homes. It's a traditional, sort of high-end look.
Not that everything has to be matchy-matchy, but you might consider what kind of finishes you have (or want to eventually have) on other items, such as light fixtures and switch plates, in the same vicinity as the doors. If you want everything to be uniform, that might guide your decision.

Chrome or brushed nickel is gorgeous and possibly even mixing it up with a few crystal knobs depending on your design and cabinet layout. Black works nice with black counters. Without black counters, the black hardware will really stand out (too much).

I LOVE ORB but have brushed nickel. I am super picky and if I chose ORB than I would feel that ALL hardware (bath, kitchen cabinet handles and drawer pulls) in the house had to match.
Actually, the powder room has ORB hardware, I am so nutty that I bought 2 knobs for the door. Inside knob is ORB (to match the bathroom hardware) and outside knob is brushed nickel (to match the hardware of the other doors in the room).

we wound up ordering antique pewter
its silver, which i wanted, but not like the satin color; its a little darker
so far we only have the hinges up. i cant wait to paint the doors white so we can put the handles on!

We had brass knobs and hinges on our white doors. DH is adding large interior trim to every room and as he does that he switches the hinges and knobs to oil rubbed bronze. We still have about 5 more to do.
We just painted the interior doors in our vacation place white and added ORB knobs there too.
