Who will be watching the baby while you're working?

Re: how do u groom yourself with fussy baby?
I went back to work when she was 12wks old. She would usually wake for her morning bottle at 5:30-6. I'd feed her, then put her in swing. She could last in the swing at least another hour, and would often fall back to sleep, allowing me to shower and get ready.

Re: how do u groom yourself with fussy baby?
If you're having a nanny or caregiver come to your place, maybe they can come a little earlier and help you out.
Here's what I have done/do:
I wake up extra early and feed the babies, change their diapers and put them back to sleep in the crib (if yours sleeps in the RnP or swing, put them there!). Then I jump in the shower and get dressed, dry my hair and put on make up. If the babies are being fussy, I might move one to the swing, RnP, bouncy seat, etc. I stopped eating breakfast at home and take it to work (with my coffee) instead.

Try and get up a little earlier.
If someone is coming to your house to watch DC, ask them to come a little earlier (This is what I do when DH and I have a wedding or something to get all dressed up for).
If neither of these are an option, alter your routine.
I have adjusted to showering at night when DS is asleep (even 5 yrs later). I wear minimal make-up (adjusted from how I used to be). Do as many things as you can the night before. I make DS' lunch the night before to give me a few more minutes for myself in the AM.

Re: how do u groom yourself with fussy baby?
I ended up showering at night and blowing out my hair. With one of the babies in the bathroom with me. then in the AM I would make the hair acceptable and minor makeup. It only took a few minutes. It was not ideal, but it worked. Everyone at work understood that I had infant colicy twins at home and that it was a miracle I got there every day.

I got up early to shower. I stopped blow drying my hair. If I wore make up at all, I put it on any work. I eat breakfast at work. Now, I get up even earlier because I pack breakfast and lunche for all of us- Dh, me, and our girls, and in the winter I made lots of crock pot meals that I prepped in the morning. I get up about an hour before my kids and try to have everything ready before they wake up.

Re: how do u groom yourself with fussy baby?
By then there should be more of a routine to waking, I always got up and ready about 30 minutes before the earliest they started waking (i.e. if baby gets up around 5:30 I get up by 5).
Now, my youngest is 8.5 months and I get up when I hear her or my other DC stirring. I hop in the shower and get ready. If I'm lucky, they are not full on screaming by the time I am done (but sometimes they are, and that's just how it is).
Or, sometimes I'll grab the baby and keep her in the bathroom while I shower. She isn't crawling yet. Once she crawls, that option is done.

I put the Exersaucer / Jumperoo / bouncy seat / whatever she's using right in front of the bathroom door. This way she can watch me while I get ready and I don't have to get up any earlier (she wakes up at 5:45 already!).
When your LO is big enough for an Exersaucer - at about 4 months, if I'm remembering correctly - things will get so much easier for you!

Re: how do u groom yourself with fussy baby?
I would either: get up early enough to get myself showered, blown out, and made up before she would wake up (she woke up at 7am like clockwork for the first few months i was back at work) OR stick her in the infant seat and bring her in the bathroom, then stick her in the RNP outside bathroom while i blew my hair (she loved the sound of the hairdryer!)
when she was big enough she'd sit in the bumbo on the bathroom floor while i did my makeup
swing and jumperoo were also options

Your a hairdresser right? If you get there before the salon opens can you do your hair/makeup there? That's what I did. Or the car lol.
