Ann Taylor outlet and returns?
Does the Ann Taylor store in the Riverhead outlets let you return something after it's been worn? I know it's a strange (and maybe gross) question. But, I bought 2 pair of capri from them yesterday. I'm wearing the black ones today and they are HUGE on me after stretching out. They are $50! I'm very unhappy right now.

Ann Taylor outlet and returns?
Did you ever wonder why they were $50??? Because of people like you retailers need to keep raising their prices to cover the cost of returns that cannot be sold again. It is a form of steeling....and yes, it is GROSS!

Re: Ann Taylor outlet and returns?
I used to work retail and people would bring back clothes that had defects in them all the time- It is worth a try to ask. IMO it isn't gross or stealing if you are honest with them... you are not happy with the product... It isn't like you are trying to sew the tags back on and pretending that you never wore the items, or hid the tags and wore the clothes, then returned them...

I think you should be able to return them. You purchased something with an expectation that it would fit you a certain way and it fails to do that after ONE wearing - that's ridiculous. I think $50 is a decent amount of money - I would and I have returned things in situations like that. If you wore it several times, then I would be more reluctant to return it.

whoa! what is your problem?? 1st post and you come on here attacking Krista...someone got a vendetta??
Krista...definitely try to return them. Like the PP (with common sense) said...it's not like you wore them out with the tags on with the plan to return them. If they are big and $50, I would definitely attempt a return.

WOW! Don't ASSume that the OP will return them like she NEVER wore them.
To the OP: I would bring them back and say I wore them once and they are stretching out on me and that you are unhappy with the product. See what they can do about it....

I would totally bring them back! Just be honest. If they give you a problem- try emailing corporate, maybe they'll send you a GC or something to cover the cost of their shoddy product

Seriously? She never said she was going to return them like she never wore them. She asked they would take back a product that didn't wear well. IMO retailers should stand behind their products - if someone is unhappy then they should do something to remedy that. If retailers did not do that then people wouldn't come back to them and they would go out of business.
Also, its spelled S-T-E-A-L-I-N-G.

Re: Ann Taylor outlet and returns?
I returned a shirt to Anthropologie last month after wearing it once. After one wear, threads were coming loose all over the place. I'd paid $68 for it and expected more than one wear out of it (I wouldn't have been able to wear it even once more). I told the cashier that I wanted my money back because I had worn it once and the quality didn't hold up. She didn't even blink; she just gave me the money back.
It's not like they're going to re-sell it; it's going to go in a "defects" pile or something. As long as you don't go back there and pretend like they're brand new and never worn, I don't see the problem. They should stand by the quality of a $50 pair of pants.

Ann Taylor outlet and returns?
I was actually wondering this myself. I bought a dress from Destination Maternity and the strap broke about an hour into me wearing it! I;m trying to decide if its worth trying to bring back or if I should just sew it.

Of course you should bring it back!
They are a big company, they should give you a refund or a new item!

Re: Ann Taylor outlet and returns?
I thought I responded the other night. Return them. They are defective. That may have been why they were at the outlets. They'll take them back. Who cares if it's gross, it's your money and they will damage them out.
That's what they do at Marshalls, TJ Maxx etc. Bloomingdales does that for pillows. Or at least they are supposed to.
Bring them back - it's retail. They take that into account when the do business. I had a tank from Old Navy. It turned my bra blue after washing. They sent me a gift card. Done.
I have no idea why people are telling you not to. It's your money.

Re: Ann Taylor outlet and returns?
Definitely return them. No matter what the price, they should not have stretched that much after only one wear.
I bought a pair of Levi skinny jeans last year. About a month later I was in the store looking for another pair. I told the sales associate that the first pair stretched a lot (i wore them several times) and although I still like them they are a little big. She told me me to exchange them. I declined her generous offer but appreciated the great customer service. As a result they gave me 25% off a new pair of jeans.
As of recent, more retailers are going above and beyond to ensure the customer's satisfaction. I would actually be surprised if they didn't accept your return.
