Re: hands falling asleep..
This has been happening to me the last few nights as well. Not sure if I am sleeping on them and they are falling asleep or if it's something else. It's so uncomfortable though.

Re: hands falling asleep..
I was just telling my husband about how bad my arm/hands fell asleep last night. I don't know if it was the sensation of them being asleep or my need to pee in the middle of the night that woke me up.
For me at least I think it is how I have been sleeping. I really try to stay on my side.... I sleep on my back for a bit but then wake up gasping for air so I know it is time to go back to my side.

hands falling asleep..
I have had the same thing since early in my second trimester. It is very annoying! Dr said it's normal and not much I can do. It's carpal tunnel from pregnancy. I got a hand brace for my left hand which was worse but I think I need one for my right too now. It helps a little but not very comfortable to sleep with! I would try one on one hand and see if it helps at all before buying two.

Re: hands falling asleep..
It's probably the beginning of carpal tunnel during pregnancy. I had it really bad with my DD and it started that way. Later, it was very painful and lasted about a month after I gave birth. Try and keep your hands elevated on a pillow while you sleep or sit, it helps a little.

Re: hands falling asleep..
I lose circulation in my hands sometimes when I find I am sleeping on my back. As soon as I turn on my side it goes away.

Re: hands falling asleep..
I had this with my first pregnancy and it jsut started again with this pregnancy.... it's carpal tunnel due to pregnancy. Since there are more fluids in your body, this causes swelling and the swelling can put pressure on your carpal tunnel nerve, thus causing your hand to fall asleep.
I have been sleeping with a carpal tunnel wrist brace (and drug store sells them) and the numbness has gotten a lot better. I rarely wake up from my sleep because of it anymore.
good luck!

Re: hands falling asleep..
I had that for most of my pregnancy... never found a solution
ETA: I used the carpal tunnel brace during the day and it helped a lot, but I was not comfortable sleeping with it on so I chose to suffer, lol.

Re: hands falling asleep..
sleep witht the carpal tunnel braces at night...it may not be comfortable but it will help. it has to do with the way you curl your hands while you sleep - even though you dont know you are doing it...but it stops the proper amount of circulation from getting to your fingers. the braces keep your wrists in place

this is exactly what it is. i have carpal tunnel already and i always find that once i get a flare up, i start using the brace (you can buy in a drugstore) and my hand doesn't fall asleep

hands falling asleep..
I agree it's likely carpal tunnel syndrome. I had to wear a wrist brace to sleep when I was pregnant the first time and it helped. My OB threatened to make me wear them 24/7 if it got worse. He said if not properly addressed during pg, carpal tunnel syndrome can remain after. Mine went away, thankfully.

Re: hands falling asleep..
What position do sleep in? Can you sleep in a sitting up position? That might keep the blood circulating to your hands better! idk, i might be talking out of my butt!

THIS!!!!
My entire arm would go numb and wake me up and it took a good 15 minutes for me to get feeling back. Then it got so painful in my wrists that I couldn't move my hands/wrists certain ways without shooting pain. It made it difficult to hold DD when she was born because my hands would fall asleep.
Talk to your doctor about it and see if they suggest wearing a brace. Do anything that will make it feel better because it sucks now but really sucks once the babies come.
