Freedom Fertility & Ganirelix Shortage?
Does anyone know why there is a nationwide shortage of ganirelix?
I have to use it for my cycle but freedom said they dont have any and are waiting for a delivery...I have to call my RE to see if they want to order cetrotide instead...or order them and see if they come in... Also with Freedom they said they deliver fedex and the window is 8-4...I wish they gave a better window...it would mean I have to takle the day off to just wait for meds which is crazy to me...I wish I knew someone that would be home that could sign...

I am not sure about the Ganirelix.
As for delivery, see if they can do Saturday delivery. I just used freedom and got it delivered last Saturday at 10:30 am. Saturday delivery is 8-12 so the window is less and you do not need to take the day off.

Freedom Fertility & Ganirelix Shortage?
i was able to get ganirelix. not through freedom but my local pharmacy never mentioned a shortage.

I have no idea...the nurse and freedom told me there is a shortage...I also googled it and there is a nationwide shortage of it...lets see what my RE says to do...they mentioned cetrotide could be used instead

When I got my meds from Freedom Pharmacy I would have them deliver them to the fedex store and I would go pick them up. See if they will do that so you dont have to wait around all day.

Yep national back order and I believe the other one is also on back order.
They told me by the end of this week or early next week they would have it.
Also, like Colleen mentioned, I use to have them hold it at my fed ex store and then go after work to pick it up.

Yes, I heard that there is both a Ganirelix and Cetrotide nationwide shortage!
I'd ask on here if anyone has any leftover so you won't have to delay your cycle.
As for the delivery, can you ask for them to leave it there? I'm almost positive that I've done that with Freedom via FedEx before. They just tell you that they don't recommend it, can't guarantee anything and that you're responsible. Sometimes its easier so then you don't have to go to the FedEx place either!

yes both ganirelix and cetrotide are on a national shortage. not sure why. but i feel like every once in a while this happens with the various fertility drugs. a little while ago it was lupron...
i haven't cycled since october 2010... dont ask me why i still keep up with these things
