Arizona: Phoenix/Sedona/Grand Canyon
We are going to Arizona for 5 full days (arrive early Friday, leave late Tuesday). We know we want to see both the GC and Sedona. Any other "must sees?" Also, does anyone have hotel recommendations for GC/Sedona area?

There are a lot of hotels by the south entrance of the Grand Canyon. I stayed at a Quality Inn (that was really nice) about 10 years ago.
Sedona is beautiful..I highly recommend taking a Pink Jeep Tour! If you are traveling with kids you'll probably pass Bedrock City somewhere between Sedona and the GC...its like the Flintstones town totally set up in the middle of nowhere. Even without kids its funny to see!

We stayed one night in the Canyon at the El Tovar hotel...it was nice you saw the canyon right out the windows of the room....

If you have the money, I second the El Tovar. There are also a few other lodges on or near the rim that are great and a little cheaper. You really can't beat the convenience of being in the park, imo. Check out the Xanterra website. They are the concessioner that runs all the hotels there.

The Enchanment Resort in Sedona is amazing. If you are looking for a more budget friendly hotel, there are a couple Best Westerns that are pretty nice.

we stayed at the Bright Angel Lodge in the Grand Canyon. It was super cute and RIGHT on the edge of the cannon, we walked out and the edge was right there, kinda crazy.
In Sedona we stayed at the Amara resort and Spa.
