Best Bank to Refinance
Can anyone recommend a bank, lender or credit union? I have used CHL but there rates are not the lowest.

We just closed with Wells Fargo in the 3 step no closing costs program. You have to meet certain criteria (purchased within a certain time frame, etc.) You don't have to be underwater. It was all finished within a month and there were ZERO closing costs just like they promised!

We are closing tomorrow with TFCU took less then two month from start to finish!!! Very easy process we couldn't believe it

We are going through the process currently with Cliffco Mtg. Our original mortgage is through Bank of America and for some reason with that bank it takes a little longer for CEMA. We were told about 6-8 weeks.
We are working with Sarah. Her number is 516-208-9103

luvmykids - when you say zero closing costs, you mean from the lender? You still paid the nonsense ny mortgage tax?
I hear CEMA can be timely which scares me since I'd like to keep the current rates out there through all of this.

i had the exact opposite experience with TFCU. They kept telling me that they have everything from me an will get back to me by the end of "next week" ... at the end of the following week (or anytime before that), i'd call them and ask for a status and they'd tell me that they're waiting for something from me still.
As a result, three months came and went and my application ended up getting cancelled. I had already paid them the application fee AND paid for the appraisal so it was a big waste of $$$.
i ended up doing a HARP refi through Citi (where my loan was originally) and had some issues with them too.

I also had a horrible experience with tfcu. They are overwhelmed with volume. I'd call and email and no one would get back to me for a week. They asked me for the same docs over and over. Ended up withdrawing application
