Might move on to IUI- have some questions

Okay so I went to the Dr today and im waiting for them to call back with blood work results and see if i ovulated on my own or if i am going in tomorrow to get the shot.
I am hoping this time around works but IF it doesnt, I had told the DR next time, I'd like to do the IUI.

I've never done it before and have no idea what to expect.
Can anyone thats gone through IUI fill me in?

Thanks!

It's a very simple procedure that's painless and quick!
My DH prefers to produce at home, so we did that and then made the short drive to my RE's office. We dropped off his sample and were told to come back an hour later for the IUI. After an hour we were taken into one of the exam rooms for the procedure. It takes about 3 minutes for the doctor to do it and then I layed there for 10-15 minutes. It is really quick and painless... I did have some cramping shortly after though. GOOD LUCK!!!

Basically this. I thought the IUI hurt a little but I'm a huge baby and I think the speculum hurts Chat Icon it wasn't horrible though and I went to work after each one

You do not need the day off. I did an IUI before work once and was perfectly fine! They just have you lay there afterward for about 10 min or so and thats it. Good luck!

Just bring a pad just in case. I bled after my iui and the pad they gave me was very uncomfortable

Definitely can go into work. For my last IUI, immediately after DH and I walked a mile up to my sister's apt. Then went out to lunch. Then we walked about 2 miles to go shopping, walked around the store, etc. 9 days later I had a BFP!

This exactly. DD was the result of our 5th IUI. Just so happens DH forced me to do nothing but relax on the couch for those two days (I had B2B IUIs). We also BDed the night of the second IUI and the night after that. Not sure if it's a coincidence or not.

Good Luck- I have done 4 or 5 Iui's and it is simple!! I lay there for 10 minutes after and go home relax and go to work.. You can go about your business right after if you want... Nan- you can always call me and ill walk you through it.
