Fence and AC Unit

If you have an AC unit on the outside of your house and you have a fence - did u fence in the unit or keep it outside?

I've had a few quotes and most companies said people keep it outside the gate so the AC service company doesn't have to go into the gate or in your backyard to look at it. One guy though said you put the gate outside it to block it from view from the street. In my opinion u can't really see it from the street much anyway, esp. b/c our chimney bottom is in front of it - just curious though waht most people do.

My AC units are in the back of the house, so no matter what I do with the fence, the AC is going to be inside of it, and any service people are going to have to go through the yard.

ours is in the front of the fence. cant really see it from the street and i dont want to look at it in my yard!
