The short version of a long saga: Because of the cyst, I can't get my co-culture biopsy done before the June shutdown. I'm also not ovulating. In fact, my whole cycle as of Saturday was at a complete standstill. It's been limping along like this since 5/7.

They basically told me to go home and call them when I get AF again--no monitoring at all, not even, say, a once a week check-in...not ok. I have explained that time is an issue because monitoring is not possible in September, so this is totally giving me a stomach ache. I want my doctor involved as he has been a total absentee through all of this.

* I called him on Monday.
* I called the co-culture liaison on Monday. Ignored.
* I called again yesterday and made a phone consultation appointment to talk to my doctor since he did not call me back.
* His secretary called me today an hour beforehand to reschedule.
* She promised to call me back and didn't. It's going on Friday. I called him the first time on Monday.

This in addition to the 2 hours and 45 minutes I waited in their NYC office on Saturday for basic monitoring as well as my less than stellar experiences with the nurses who (1) failed once to even call me after monitoring, (2) tend to leave messages after monitoring with no information in them, (3) deflect my questions by telling me "You need to talk to a physician about that" instead of walking their asses down the hallway and asking themselves.

I can't. I'm losing it.

Re: My impression of me dealing with Cornell

Sorry you are having such a bad experience with them. When I was a patient there, I didn't have any issues with them. He always called and actually emailed me back while he was on vacation. Can they put you on birth control pills for awhile to shrink the cysts and regulate your cycle? Would skipping coculture be an option for you? I think there lab alone without coculture is suppose to be excellent. I would do that if you want to cycle before September. Good luckChat Icon

I have a new appointment for him to call me on Monday, a full week after a placed the original call. Let's hope he doesn't cancel this one!

I never had a problem dealing with them. My dr always called me back the same day, sometimes with the hour of calling. Like the other post, I actually got an email from my dr while he was on vacation. To be honest, for a huge facility, I found them to be very on top of things. When cycling, you don't have much contact with your particular dr, but you are always monitored by a doctor, which you don't get at other facilities, and my questions never went unanswered. Maybe they are winding down before their closing? Sorry you are going through this. Good luck.

It's Cornell--they have the best embryology lab in the region plus facilities that do co-culture, and I have 2 IVF failures with no frosties under my belt; I need new ideas. Plus my doctor is pretty brilliant based on my consultation with him.

It's the communication breakdown that's driving me to drink.
