insomnia

i am going insane ladies! i am only in my 5th week and i cannot sleep. the first few days i was super tired and taking a nap daily. but the past 4 days i cannot sleep through the night. im pretty sure its because my mind is wondering....wow im having a baby, is it healthy, when/how will we tell family/friends etc. i normally sleep on my stomach and i think to myself not safe so i roll over, that may be part of it too since im not used to sleeping on my back.

just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? can i take tylenol pm or something to help...is there even anything to help??? any tricks on how to make my mind stop wondering??

Re: insomnia

I went through an insomnia phase early on too! I think you're fine to sleep on your stomach for a while still. Can you do something relaxing at night like reading or meditating? or, keep a pad of paper by your bed so if you think of something you need to do you can jot it down not worry about forgetting it. Re: insomnia

its normal.

it is 100% safe to sleep on your stomach. do NOT worry about that Chat Icon I find that if I am having a hard time sleeping, I get up and go to the bathroom and then have a small drink of water and then back to bed. I usually pass out and sleep sound.

It is probably just your mind racing, so many emotions etc. I had the same issue the first week. Once things settle a bit, it will get better (then worse, later on Chat Icon Chat Icon )

I've had insomnia since before I knew I was pregnant. It helps me if I go to bed later so I STTN.

It did get better in the late first -mid third trimester so hopefully it will for you also.

AS far as sleeping on your stomach - I am almost 40 weeks and still sleep on my stomach so I would not worry about that at all. If that is the way you are comfortable and able to sleep, I say go for it.
