dehumidifier q
we are finishing our basement and i noticed that there is a lot more moisture down there (especially after some guys spackled). i was looking to buy a dehumidifier, is this necessary if we have a small AC unit in the basement (someone told me that it was not necessary if i have an AC unit).. If I need one then what size is appropriate? the basement is approx 500 sq feet. Also any recommendations for brands too... TIA!

Re: dehumidifier q
It's true that the a/c will take alot of the humidity out of the air, but for times when you're not running the a/c I would use a dehumidifier. You'd be surprised how much moisture is in the air in a basement. I think we have a GE one that we got at Walmart for around $200 last year. It's loud, but it gets the job done.
