Re: Above ground pool - who to use and who NOT to use?

We used Island Rec. They were the CHEAPEST.

We had ENDLESS issues and problems and all manner of challenges with their customer service.

They have done a lot to try to make us happy... but I can say that we didn't get a lot of use out of the pool last year because of the issues. This year has been fine.

If you decide to use them be sure to double check EVERYTHING they say, question every single word that comes from the salesperson and comparison shop at a more reputable place - take their quote and offered items to some other place and ask them to match, beat or explain why they can't. Take what you learn back to Island Rec and have them explain and re-explain. And if you have a problem - go right to BBB and do a chargeback on your card because I found it was the only way to get their attention!

Thanks for the response! I was walking into that store today and got a response text from a friend saying anywhere but there lol. So I left without even getting a quote! You can FM me your issues if you'd like! Brother's 3 seemed the most professional but were also very expensive. Leslie's Pool Supplies had a pretty good price but I wanted to get some feedback before making a decision! This is a scary purchase for me for some reason!

We used dolphin pools and have had no complaints. We were undecided between 3 brothers and dolphin and dolphin gave us a better feeling, more for our money and they had quicker install.

Good to know. They have been around forever and I would have gone to them first. I take reviews seriously, though!!! We are thinking of getting one next summer or the summer after that. DH would like to see if semi-inground makes sense for us but I don't think it matters to me.

My cousin had got her pool from Dunrite. I know she had a great experience with them.
