When can I start packing???
We're fully in contract and the appraisal is scheduled for tomorrow. We have the mortgage committment from our lender and half of our downpayment is paid. I'm so nervous something is going to happen before closing. Our on or about date is July 15th (when I'll be 9 months pregnant!  ).

I was being serious!! I meant like did you wait until you were in contract or did you wait until something more concrete? I'm just nervous because July 15th isn't THAT close and I'm afraid of something going wrong and we won't be able to close. That's why I didnt post the whole progress of this process because nothing is for sure. It's soo freakin stressful especially being pregnant.

7/15 is only about 7 weeks away. Since contracts are signed, I'd start now. First start de-cluttering & then Start with stuff you won't need in the next 6 weeks. Winter clothes, holiday decorations, kitchenware you only use for parties,etc, books, photos, candle, etc. . . stuff you can live without.
Once you start, you realize home much stuff you really have. I waited b/c I swore I would jinx it, and then I had to travel right before we closed (came back the night before) so I was still packing as the movers were in my apt.  I do not recommend this approach!

The earlier, the better.
You never realize how much crap you own until it's time to move.
Frequently, we need as many garbage days as possible.

Damn, I shouldn't have deleted my original answer. Basically what I said was that you should definitely start now (with things you don't need right now - out of season clothes, books etc). Soon you will get to the point where you physically can't pack anything so you should get started now. Even if something gets delayed (trust me, I know how it is... we were in contract on our condo from something like May or June through August...), you will have a jump on packing. If you don't *need* it, box it up.
Or, you can wait, and recline on the couch directing people what to do while you are fanned with palm fronds by cabana boys....
