Going rate for a bushel of crabs?
Would a bushel be enough for 9 adults (there will be other food, i.e. Hotdogs, Chicken Kabobs and London Broil). Anyone have a going rate for a bushel? Anywhere local I could pick them up? I got these price online which include delivery:

My mom get's bushel of crabs a few times a year. She usually only gets half a bushel and there is always more thant 15 people. Not everyone will eat crabs. Expect a lot of leftovers if you get a bushel (which may be a good thing if you love crabs).

Don't know where you live but there are several fish markets on the nautical mile in Freeport where you could pick up live crabs.

ok..i'm out of my mind but I have placed an order for a bushel of crabs. The prices listed were for delivery but found out the guy is local (amityville) and so I'll be meeting him to pick them up. Is it bad that I want them NOW? (I'm no better at waiting than my 2 y/o)

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the person I "used." The morning of our party, as I was on the way to meet him, he called and cancelled
He alluded to some email that he sent me the day before (to my work address--why would I be there on the weekend?), however when I checked the email it wasnt anything about cancelling the order it was just trying to see if I wanted to take delivery the day before instead or we could just keep it as is. If that was the case why didnt he have the crabs? All in all it was a big fat disappointment and ultimately his loss because my mother was already planning ahead for a lobster and clam order for our 4th of july party.
