How many sonograms
Is the norm for a pregnancy? Is it 2? One in the beginning and the growth one at around 20 weeks? TIA

Re: How many sonograms
I only received 2 from my first pregnancy and will receive 2 with this one. According to the norm with insurance companies that is it., however that doesn't mean your dr.'s office will not give you more and or if you are a high risk pregnancy. ETA: yes, one around 10-12 week mark for me and the other around 18-20 week mark.

Re: How many sonograms
I had internal sonos at 6 1/2 weeks and 9 weeks..but according to the way my doctor's office operarates, this was only because of my previous history, miscarraige, etc.
Then I had the standard 12 week and 20 weeks sonos..
I had a 3d sono done at 30 wks but that was my own choice (out of pocket)
I expect I'll have a growth sono soon, about 35-36 weeks?

Re: How many sonograms
I had one @8wks, one @13wks for my ultrascreen (not necessary though) and my level II @ 20wks. After that I ran into some complications and had more than I can count!

Re: How many sonograms
My doctor only does one at 20 weeks.
The only reason why I am getting one on Wed bc I'm not sure how far along I am.... I'm either 8 or 12 weeks.

Re: How many sonograms
I had one at my first appointment (8 weeks) and then I will have one as part of the ultrascreen at 12 weeks. Then the Level II, but I don't know beyond that how many I'll have.

Re: How many sonograms
so far we had five - and are sched for one more next week - often its b/c she is apparently shy and squirms so we can't see!
we got one at 10 weeks, one at 20 weeks (she wasn't cooperating so we came back the next week!), one at 21 weeks, one at 23 weeks at the Hospital (they had seen a cpc on her brain which as was common went away, thank goodness!), the growth one at 35 weeks and I will be getting one more to judge length (she was squirmy last time) at 37 weeks.....
and luckily hae not paid for a single one...but its fun to watch her grow over time...its amazing!

Re: How many sonograms
I've had 5 so far due to some initial possible complications. The last one I had was for the UltraScreen and I guess the next one won't be until I'm 20 weeks for the Level 2.
