accent wall
I'm playing around with the idea of painting the wall around my kitchen an accent color - either dark red or dark green. But, I don't know what color to make it.
Our kitchen is open to one big "great room" (dining area and living room).
The kitchen backsplash is iridescent- tan base with some purples, greens, and blues, depending on the light.
We have a dark wood dining table and chairs with red leather upholstery in the dining area. We also have a rug that is grayish brown and dark red in the hall in front of the door to the left of the kitchen.
We have a rug separating the dining area from the living room that is a whole bunch of colors.
Our couch is a dark sage green. The rug that we have there has green, red, blue, and other colors.
We haven't repainted the walls from the neutral beige color.
My gut says to go with a dark green color, since it will match the kitchen better... but red would go better with the dining area. Our neighbors painted their wall dark red and it looks awesome, but their backsplash tiles are different than ours.
Thoughts?
ETA: this picture is from when we first closed before there was furniture there, unfortunately it is hard to see the color of the kitchen... Image Attachment(s):
