What happens when your house alarm goes off for only a few seconds?
The other alarm post got me wondering about something.
We constantly set our alarm off when we are home and we disarm it very quickly.
The alarm company doesnt call when this happens. Shouldnt they? What if there was a robbery in progress and we disarmed by force? They give you a fake code if you are under duress but what if you panic (duh!) and use your normal code.
I have Slomins (not a fan).
Does your alarm company call you in these situations?

As long as we get our code in on time our company (ADT) doesn't call either. We've only gotten the calls when the alarm went off and we werent home (pets set it off).

They give u 30 seconds before they call. I can't imagine what it would be like if they called everytime someone accidentally sets thier alarm off for a few seconds. Plus if ur not by ur phone an missed the call they then call the cops. I can see the amount of false calls going up quick

There is a grace period before they call.
But like my mom was babysitting for DD and she set off the alarm and got so nervous she couldnt shut it off the cops showed up right away She was mortified.

We have a grace period too. There have been times really early in the morning where I've forgotten to shut it off before I open the door to let the dog out. They've called then

My company calls everytime. I just say it was an accident and give the code. I believe we have a certain number of times (per year) of setting it off before they charge us.

mine calls every time it is set off and you just give the code.
