is there an alternative to clomid?
I have been on clomid for three cycles. Each cycle has only produced one egg. I was was wondering if there is an alternative so that I might be able to produce more than one egg...

Re: is there an alternative to clomid?
Definitely ask your Dr to switch to Femara or injectables if you arent responding as well to clomid. Some Drs are fine with 1 egg since it lessens the chance of multiples.

What dosage were you on? And were you monitored by an RE?
I only produce 1 egg on 100mg of Clomid for 2 months I was on it. I also got terrible migraines the second month so I wouldn't try it again. My RE said I could try Femara, which is another pill, or injectibles. I chose injectibles because it's more likely that I will make more than 1 egg on it. You just have to be monitored really carefully so you don't overstimulate.

Personally, I had several clomid (100mg, Day3-7) IUI cycles (9) BFN's before doing IVF... I would highly suggest seeing an RE and going on injectables where they will monitor your cycle closely and give you a better chance of concieving via IUI.

Re: is there an alternative to clomid?
Thanks everyone!! I am being monitored by a RE. I was on 150 which was upped from last time and still only produced one egg and this cycle took much longer. Thanks for ur responses; I go tomorrow to start another iui cycle so I will ask about different suggestions.

Re: is there an alternative to clomid?
I did 2 cycles with clomid and developed 2-4 follicles but developed cysts and thinned my lining...I have done 3 cycles of femara and delevoped 1-3 follicles with no thinning of my lining but I did develeop a cyst which went away on its own in the same cycle...I would def talk to your RE and discuss your options
