Walk of shame back to hairstylist....

I "broke up" with my hair guy about a year ago. I used him for several years and then just stopped going. His prices were ridiculous, but honestly my hair never looked better.

I'm embarassed to go back, but I really want to. Has anyone been through this. I'm wondering if I'm going to get an attitude from him, or if it's just the nature of the business and he will be understanding.

Chat Icon The title of the post makes me giggle. I think it's fine. I wouldn't even mention it and if he does get snotty and say something, I'd tell him straight up "I couldn't afford to keep coming to you."

Now I know my hair dressers now wouldn't say boo about it, but my OLD hair dresser? Forget it, she probably would've made some snide comments while doing my hair. That's part of the reason I don't go to her anymore! It just depends on the person.

I did the same thing. I didn't really mention the departure, I approached it on the lines of, "it's so good to see you again. Can't wait for you to work your magic and make me beautiful!"

If he/she questions you about it (which they probably won't, they may just say where have you been hiding) just simply say, "oh you know how life is" and change the subject.

maybe you could just say another salon was offering a deal that was too good to pass up but after trying them you decided you were happier with his work.

I would say I tried someplace closer to home, less expensive, that a family member recommended. I didn't love it, but gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried them a few times. But nothing compared to your original hairdresser's work. Sorry for leaving, but so glad I'm back. But realize it make take more than one coloring session to get your hair back to the way you remember it...
