Cruise travel booking recommendations
Could you recommend your travel agent or website you book your cruises? We have used a travel agent in the past for our cruises. He has actually got us really good deals. I emailed him on Monday and I still have not heard from him which is very strange since he is so good with responding...
Also does anyone know for a new ship does the price fluctuate much? I'm looking at the Norwegian Breakaway for next year out of NY. The price on NCL site is pretty good, but wondering if I can get it cheaper.

Re: Cruise travel booking recommendations
Obviously I know a good travel agent. ;)
Cruise prices fluctuate based on supply & demand so the two best times to purchase your vacation are when the ship's itineraries are first released and very last minute.
A good travel agent will recommend booking early to lock in the lowest rates possible, then watch for promotions or discounts that can help your fare.
You sound like you have a great relationship with your previous agent so I'd give him a call - you just never know with email.

Re: Cruise travel booking recommendations
I usually wind up booking directly through NCL's site. Generally, I don't see much difference in prices on travel sites and since we're Latitudes members, we get perks by booking directly through NCL.

The first time we booked a cruise, we used Expedia. They had agents you could call up as well if you didn't want to do it online. The second time since we went on another Carnival cruise, we just booked directly through Carnival for a "past guest rate".

Usually direct but Cruise Compete sometimes offers some extras for the same price such as On Board Credits.

I've used Dawn Dorr from Cruise One many times (so has family). I started using her back when I was on LIW about a decade ago! She used to live on LI but is now in NC. You can google her and she has a FB page.
