Dream house
If money wasn't an issue and you could have the house of your dreams, what would it look like (type of home), what would it include and lastly where would you live?

Re: Dream house
I'm in love with Paula Deen's house. I saw it on Oprah's new show.
It had separate guest cottages, and a boat house.
In general I like a colonial with a wrap around porch.

Re: Dream house
I've always dreamed of living in an old stone english type home covered in ivy, with a white picket fence and a porch

Re: Dream house
I don't have a specific style house that I love but I would want a wrap around porch, huge finished basement with walk out, a HUGE gourmet kitchen with a center island and a butler's pantry, 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, a game/playroom, walk in closets in every room, and lots of good storage space.
I think LI is getting too crowded and overdeveloped these days so I would want my dream house elsewhere. And if $$$ wasn't an issue I could fly home whenever to visit everyone. I think I might consider the northwest (Seattle, Portland) or the northeast (MA, NH). If $$ wasn't an issue we'd have SO many options!!

Re: Dream house
Craftsman style home and I don't ever want to leave Long Island so I would want it on the South Shore near the water in western suffolk

Re: Dream house
I love Ina Garten's house in East Hampton (as seen on "The Barefoot Contessa" show on Food Network). Practically, living in the Hamptons would never work for us, but as a dream.... would LOVE to have that house (with the finished barn for entertaining, the gorgeous garden, huge kitchen, etc).

Re: Dream house
It would have 4-5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a great room (kitchen/den/dining room), a bonus room for the kids (massive playroom), lots of storage and a library! I think Id stay on Long Island but if family and friends would move with us Id go somewhere like San Diego or on a lake.
ETA: I love colonials

Re: Dream house
- Center Hall Colonial on VERY large lot - 4-5 Bedrooms - 3 1/2 Bath - Master Bath w/seperate shower and soaker tub with 2 sinks - Walk in Closet - Terrace outside of Master BR - Open Concept Large eat-in Kitchen w/family room - Formal living room w/fireplace - formal dining room - Media room - Finished Basement to be used as a play room/family play room - 2 sunrooms, 1 for the family, 1 to use as my office with a seperate entrance and 1/2 bath for clients - Inground pool w/stonework, beautiful landscaping and water slide - outdoor kitchen and grilling area - fenced in yard for dogs - Seperate 2 car garage - Seperate cottage on land for my mom to live in (This is why I want a large lot so she's not on top of me)
Oh location, umm... on Long Island I'd say Rockville Centre. (Yes, I know I wouldn't be getting my very large lot. But I RVC!)
