Question about scheduling a c-section.

I'm sure all doctors offices are different, but i'm wondering if you get any input on what day you want to schedule it, or do they just assign you a day and time (without having any say). I'm already anticipating needing one, and I already want it for a specific day!

call your office and ask what they do - i know a few friends that have had scheduled Cs.. some were given a choice of a day, others were assigned their day/time.

My dr. looked at one week back from my due date but that was a holiday and apparently they dont schedule on holidays. So then he went for the next day but then at that point it was the day before our anniversary so I asked if he could push it forward 1 more day and he said he was fine with that. So as of now the baby is scheduled to be born on our anniversary. I didnt have a say in the time, he just told be it was for 8 am and to be there 2 hrs. ahead of time.

At my office it was 'select the doctor' more than the day since that's based on his / her availability. There's also only a few day window that it can be, which will also limit you with a dr preference.

I go to a practice with 4 doctors. They have their set schedules. My doctor said she only schedules c-sections on Thursdays, so the Thursday before I make it to 42 weeks is the day she scheduled me for (since they don't let you go past 42 weeks).

I am going for a VBAC and I'm not too fond of the c-section date, lol, so I'm hoping baby comes before then.
