Cruises from NY/NJ in November/December
I would like to go on a cruise around this time but the airfare to Florida is ridiculous for 3 of us unless by some miracle it drops. So my next plan was to leave out of the NY or NJ area. I've been reading that the ocean is choppy up here and once we get further south it gets better. Is there any other draw back with taking a cruise out of our area besides what I mentioned?
Also, now possibly cruising with a 4th child who would need a crib/ PnP what kind of cabin would you get? We normally would get a balcony cabin. TIA.
ETA do cruises offer kids cruise free specials? I just looked around and I would be charged the same price for my then 1 yr old and my 3 year old. That's insane! When we cruised with DS1 in 2010, we only paid taxes and port charges for him.

On most cruise lines, kids will cost substantially less than the adults in the room if they are guests 3 and 4 vs guest 2
Some cruise lines (like Disney and Norwegian) have "family" staterooms that are designed with families in mind.
I would definitely go for a Balcony stateroom in your case because you and DH can enjoy the balcony while the kids are napping inside.
Just for fun I looked up the Dec 2 sailing of the Norwegian Jewel out of NY and for your party it would be about $2600. One special they are running is kids free on excursions.

Re: Cruises from NY/NJ in November/December
Pretty much on all cruiselines the 3rd and 4th guests are significantly less but I don't think any (except maybe disney) charge based on age.
The prices for cruising out of FL in dec are really low the week or 2 before xmas. Flights aren't bad either around that time, I was just looking earlier and it's about $110-120 each way so for 3 seats it would be around $700.
You could come out the same price-wise if you cruise from NY or FL w/ Airfare depending on what cruise line, room type, etc.
