Big scare yesterday
Yesterday, i saw a little bright-red blood and obviously freaked out as a result. I called the doctor who said i should head over to the hospital to get checked out.
When i got there, they did a bunch of tests and ultimately said that everything with LO is ok (Thank God!!!) but that it appears my placenta is a little low and wraps around the uterus too much.
She said that since i'm only 15 weeks, that as the uterus grows, the placenta will probably move up a little (well, not that it will move, but the uterus wall will kinda move and it'll move with it) so it will hopefully not be a problem and will just need to be monitored.
So it was a crazy day and very scary, but ultimately, i'm so so happy that everything's alright.
Question though ... why would a low placenta cause bleeding?
Thanks for reading, sorry this was a bit on the long side

Re: Big scare yesterday
Not sure why it would cause bleeding exactly but I had wondered if the same thing happened to me when I had bright red bleeding at 8 weeks. It hasn't happened to me since then (just regular spotting off & on).....I hope this is an isolated incident for you and the placenta rights itself sooner than later!! Glad everything is ok!!

Re: Big scare yesterday
Did you have sex or were you active/lifting stuff? Placenta previa (when the placenta covers your cervix) can cause bleeding with certain activities. It's common this early and usually clears but sometimes pelvic rest is necessary to prevent bleeding. Usually includes no sex, no jumping/running, no lifting. Are you going to see your OB today? I'm glad your is ok!!

She said it doesn't completely cover the cervix, it's just low & close to it.
And i hadn't done anything that would aggravate it (no sex, no lifting, no nuthin'!). The doctor at the hospital said that i don't need to be on pelvic rest, but i'm still going to be extra-cautious.
I have doctor's appointment tomorrow so i'll talk to her about everything then.
Thanks!

Re: Big scare yesterday
Google placenta previa. I had it and it went away around 20w. They found mine at 11w and I started bleeding at 14w. As the placenta grows up anmd away from cervix it can get little blood clots that cause bleeding. Super scary. Mine was total previa ans when I staryted bleeding I wasd put on bedrest for a week and told no sex orgasms or excercise until cleared. They just don't want the bleeding to get bad. Hipefully ur ob can explain it better and all docs have dif instructions. Xixo

Re: Big scare yesterday
That sounds like placenta previa. I had bleeding at 7.5 weeks because one of my babies implanted low and was on the cervix. At my 10 week apt they said it's correcting itself almost completely gone and is just touching on one little spot.
