Hair salon etiquette question

I got my hair cut and highlighted today. The highlights were done WAY too bright- and I sorta hate it. I actually called 10 mins after I left the salon to say that I want to come in tomorrow to get it fixed (I would have gone in TONIGHT even but she doesn't have anything available)

I'm not sure if she will be charging me to fix it. Should I assume she won't? Also whether she charges me or not- do I give her another tip? I tip her 20% normally....

Re: Hair salon etiquette question

They should NOT charge you to fix it if you are unhappy.
My girl just asks that I come back within a week or she could run into issues.

I am not sure about the tipping. I hate to not tip- but she did it wrong in the first place, kwim?
Maybe a smaller tip?

I'd feel bad not tipping. I'd probably give her a small tip ($5) for her time.

I would too.
I love the girl who does my hair.
She does screw up the color at times but I still love her!
And yes, I'd tip her something for her time- but much less than the original tip-esp since she just did it the day before.

Right .. I agree.. I'd def give her something, I just wasn't sure what was appropriate. I'll probably give her $10 .. since she also squeezed me in asap.

This. They shouldn't charge you but you should definitely tip. I'd tip basically what I'd tip if she charged - so 20% of the cost, even though you're not paying.

This happened to me last week. There was no charge, but my colorist would not take the tip! I felt like it was causing a scene, so I left without giving it to her. I still feel bad about it. Although, I had given her a little bit over 30% tip the day before- I did the ombre thing with my hair and it was super time consuming.
