Bermuda

I always hear people compare Bermuda to Hawaii. Does anyone have any info? I am trying to decide on a vac for my DH & I for this summer. Not sure if I want to cruise there or stay? Maybe you can help me decide and if not Bermuda any other ideas! Thanks

Other than they are both beautiful islands I'm not sure you can really compare them. I think they are very different. But both beautiful in their own way.

I would take the cruise. You get the best of both worlds. We just did a celebrity cruise on the Summit out of Bayonne, NJ. The one we did had lots of families but also had lots of couples in their 20's, 30's and 40's. It was so easy to just drive to the port, walk on and sail away. The cruise we did was a 7 night with 3 days in Bermuda which for us was just right. In fact we enjoyed it so much we are going back again this summer. I would expect most lines have a cruise that goes to Bermuda - but off the top of my head NCL and RCCL also have one. We were docked next to NCL last time (I think it was the Gem but could be wrong). That was was definitely more family oriented I would think because our ship had 500 children and theirs had over 1000 according to several people who spoke with at Horseshoe Bay. The RCCL I think is only 6 nights but I haven't really looked into it so I can't tell you.

I've never been to Hawaii, but I've been to Bermuda several times. From what I know of Hawaii, I don't think you can really compare the two.

But that's not to say that Bermuda isn't a great vacation! I've never stayed there myself, but I've done a cruise on NCL that docks at Bermuda's Kings Wharf for 3 consecutive days so you really get to experience the island.

Bermuda I have been to 5 or 6 times. I love it there. So close to home if you fly. I have only cruised there. I never find that we have enough time. Next time we are going to stay in hotel or rent a home from homeaway.

Bermuda is not like the other islands in the Caribbean. It is owned by the british. There is no poverty. Everyone is friendly and not trying to sell you things on the beach or take you for a ride.

I have been to both Hawaii and Bermuda and they are not alike at all. Both beautiful but since Bermuda is so much closer, I would go there before Hawaii, in a second.
We also love Bermuda. Have been there twice. Once a land trip and once on a cruise.
