Video monitor

I'm very confused about baby monitors.....I registered at bru and don't know which video monitor is better. The summer infant baby touch screen for $279 or the motorola for $329. The reviews for the motorola we're better but I just want to make sure it's worth the money

Any suggestions??

Re: Video monitor

We just got the Motorola one after the same debate. DC#2 is due this summer and we wanted a portable monitor w/2 cameras. The BRU salesman said he has not had one complaint about it and in fact we got the last one on the shelf! We have the old Summer one now w/the b&w tv and the reception is awful, and I have heard others complain about the same thing w/the Summer. We set up the Motorola one last week and have had no problems. $329 seems like a lot but most people have coupons.
Good luck!

Re: Video monitor

We went with the Motorola, and though Chat Icon isn't here yet, we've been testing and playing with it for the past month and love it.

Re: Video monitor

If you have wifi at home and are looking for another option, check this out:

https://www.dropcam.com/features

It's called a drop cam and it is super easy to set up. You can watch from your computer (securely) or any iphone/ipad with their app. It also records and you can look back at any events, as well as create videos from it and share them. You can share your drop cam with grandparents, too, if they want to watch the baby.

We have the cheapest summer infant monitor there is -- it was $100 (or $80 with a coupon).

I've had that since DD was 3 weeks old. Works great except for the sound quality which stinks (we have the sony audio monitor we got as a present and the sound is great on that). But I love that it has a button on top to just turn on and off the video. The picture quality is fabulous, although it's b&w (all cameras are B&W at night, though, so it's not a big deal).

The drop cam is super fun -- we just got it so we can use it with #2, and we're probably going to set it up in the playroom. It does have a slight delay (about 5 seconds) but it isn't a big deal at all. At only $150, it's a great option instead of one of those extremely pricey monitors. Just figured I'd throw it out there for you.

Re: Video monitor

I read about an Angelcare monitor that is a video/sound monitor with movement detection included.
