if you have a house and use a pest control company
are you on a maintanence for every 3-4 months? I want to do a basic preventative spray of my new house inside and out before we move in and most of the companies I called give you a better rate if you agree to go on a miantence schedule. I am wondering if it's worth it and do you find you need that maintence to control bugs? Is a one time spray good enough? The house seems very clean and is not in a very wooded area, so wondeirng if it's worth it or not

Yes I have a yearly contract. I live in Florida, so it's definitely needed every 3 months. I start seeing bugs around the time I'm due for service.

I am on LI and RENTING and we are under a contract.
Its about $125 every 3 months.

we had a one time issue and it was solved and I didn't sign for any subsequent treatments.
It depends though I guess. I hate wasting money and would probably take a chance and see if the issue occurred again before signing a contract.
I have heard that shrubs very close to your house can cause issues with bugs but I never had any issues after one time.

I dont see it as wasting money. Its kinda like your car. You get oil changes and tune ups. You dont HAVE to, but it makes your car last longer.
Same thing with this. Its PREVENTATIVE. They spray every 3 months to prevent the pests from coming in. Then you eliminate (hopefully) any damage that could happen. Its much easier to spray for bugs before they cause a problem, then calling in a panic because you see carpenter ants in the house.
And by the time the carpenter ants are IN the house, well, its a problem.

We have a monthly plan for termites. About a year ago, we discovered them. Once a month, they come and check the system from outside of the house. It's all done underground...if there's termites, they send bait down underground to kill them. We didn't want any sprays in our house with the cats. I believe the first time fee was $1200, and we pay around $400 for each subsequent year.

We have a maint plan with Suburban Exterminating. They come every 3 months and if we have a problem we call them and they come usually within a day.

This is the plan I have too, but I'm with Top Quality Exterminating. FM and I will answer every question. I put them through the ringer from watching Mike Holmes show.

Formerly victor pest control. They are awesome. Family owned. Have always been prompt and professional. Just nice people too. Ut they have done a great job with the mice and with the bees nest.
