Those with Frosties...
where do you have them stored and what do you pay?
mine have been stored at AFS since my IVF in october 2010. i never heard one word about them, and feared that they no longer existed. i resisted contacting AFS for fear of receiving a large bill for storage...
i suppose my insurance must have covered a year and a half of storage because yesterday i got a certified letter from them saying as of 4/1 i will be charged $50 a month for storage..
i emailed dr. B who said gramercy is about the same and i should keep them at AFS until we are ready to use them.
so just because i need to justify spending $50 a month that i absolutely don't have right now... if you have frosties.. where are they stored and how much do you pay per month??

we have ours with grammercy and they told us we got 6 months free then after that it is 50 a month but that they r not a long term storage center and if we do not plan on using them for a while to consider moving them

Re: Those with Frosties...
Mine are at North Shore. It has just passed the one year mark for us so I probably will be receiving a bill soon. First year ws included in my ridiculous (but VERY well worth it ) oop costs for ivf. Each additional year I believe is around $700 or so for the year.

This is what we were told too. However, it's now past 6 months and I haven't heard a word from them!

We ahve them at RMA in CT, and paid $1,050 for the first year, and every additional year is $900.

Re: Those with Frosties...
I just got a certified letter from them today about this. I paid $800 back in September for storage (I have zero fertility coverage) so I start paying $50 a month starting then. I'm just going to leave them there for the time being and when/if it comes time for another FET I'll transfer them to wherever Dr. B says.

Re: Those with Frosties...
funny, Stacey just emailed me today to tell me that my insurance approved IVF but they dont cover cryopreservation... it will cost $1200.. and it will come from the lab that does it... i just assumed they would stay at gramercy... do i have to find a different place before hand?

Meliss!!!!! how are you???? i'll FM you!! hope you and your LO are doing well!! i was originally told that my insurance didn't cover anesthesia or cryo at all.. but i never got a bill... so....
Ang i believe the lab is at gramercy unless you are sending out for PGD or something like that. although someone mentioned above that gramercy is not a long-term place (whatever that means ). when i did ask Dr. B about mine he said that Gramercy charges about the same ($50/month) so based on that I'm sure that they store there for at least some period of time.
