JenniferEver (or others) - Disneyland Q
My DH and I have a wedding in mid June in LA. We are thinking about making it a long weekend and going to Disneyland one day (possibly flying out Wednesday night and going Thursday or flying home on Tuesday and going on Monday). Any idea which would be better? (The RD is on Friday night and the wedding is Saturday night.) Any other tips would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

Check out when Grad Nights are in June because the parks will be more crowded those days. I know there are a few dates in June. You can google it to find the dates.

hmm..I think PP had a GREAT point. Disneyland still has Grad Nites, so I would avoid them. Other than that, going on a weekday is generally a great idea.
Just like at Disney World, especially since you only have one day, you'll want to get up early to make the most of it. My priority would be getting a fastpass for World of Color. For me, I would feel my trip were complete if I saw only that and rode the Matterhorn, but with one day you don't want to wait on line and take a chance you may miss it. You'll need a parkhopper though, since it's at DCA. However, if you just want to stick with Disneyland, you can absolutely fill a day there alone.
Disneyland is deceptive. It's smaller than Disney World, but has more attractions than Florida's Magic Kingdom.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

Depends on preference. Goofy's kitchen is the classic character meal, but there are a lot of adult choices as well, such as Blue Bayou, Wine Country trattoria, or for really upscale, Napa Rose at the Grand Californian.

Mondays are generally less crowded than Thrusdays, and the earlier you get there the better (as with all Disney parks!)
Also check the refurb schedule - Matterhorn is currently down (getting new bobsleds) and is scheduled to open in June, so it might still be down when you go. But if you get there at open, you should be able to get on it no prob. I'd actually grab a Space Mountain FP then ride Matterhorn. Have you been to WDW?
For one day I'd stay with Disneyland. DCA is still a mess of construction. But YMMV. World of Color is definitely worth the extra admission price.
If you want to stay at the park, I would eat at Cafe Orleans (get the pommes frites) or Blue Bayou for the atmosphere. Carnation Cafe is great too. You should get a reservation for those. For quick service, go to Plaza Inn... their fried chicken is sooo good, and they also make a wonderful cobb salad.
