can I put family pictures...?
in attempt to "de-family" our house for sale, we painted and are trying to decide what to go back up.
Here is what the house looked like before (the paint is slightly different - not much)
and now we put up this big mirror: Can a few of the 8x10s go on the "side" wall?

Re: can I put family pictures...?
I can't see the updated pic, but I wouldn't hang a lot on the walls especially if it's fresh paint. Maybe just put a few in frames on the mantel.

Re: can I put family pictures...?
ooops - I tried to fix...hopefully it's better (I could see the pic before)
I'm wondering about over the couch.
We also have a Living Room that is bare...I do't know what to put up.

Re: can I put family pictures...?
I would leave it exactly as it is, mirror only. It looks great.

Re: can I put family pictures...?
I wouldn't hang any family photos on the walls - you want a nice, neutral space that is inviting to families, but doesn't scream that YOUR family lives there. You want potential buyers to feel that it's an inviting, homey space that they can live in, not feel like a guest in someone else's living space. And you want appealing, but basically bland, decor that will appeal to the broadest array of buyers.
Some buyers don't like the look of family photos on the walls, and some don't have families. So I would keep the photos to a minimum. A few on tabletops (as previous posters suggested) is fine, but if the walls are in good shape and freshly painted, you want to show them off!
Also, you don't want buyers to spend time admiring your family photos during showings versus looking at the house. I've had showings where people are like "oh, this baby is so cute" looking at photos on the wall and it kind of takes away from the showing.
I am sure it's hard to pack them away, but remember that there will be plenty of room in your new place for all of your family photos.
