Which shoulderbag?
I want a bag that is sturdy, classic and practical. I also want to be able to wear it on my shoulder. I have some AMEX points to use so here is my dilemma:
The coach stewardess bag in british tan

I'd go with the Coach. I have a Burberry Bag but the plaid is only on the inside, I'm not a huge fan of the plaid everywhere. The Coach will never go out of style and you can wear it crossbody or on your shoulder.

100% I say go with the Burberry!!!
I am a Burberry fan and I actually have that bag, but with gold straps. It holds up well and it's a great size. It's pretty classic and I think you will be able to use it for years to come.
I also prefer Burberry over Coach

I would do with coach because its a solid color. i am personally not a fan of plaid bags... but if you are then go for the more $$ one since you have the points.

I agree. I am a Burberry fan as well. I don't care for Coach bags and I think the Burberry is timeless and that Coach looks dated to me. But that is just my opinion, from a non-Coach fan, so take it for what it is worth.  But if I were using points, I would totally go Burberry.

I'm not a fan of logo bags hence why I don't like Coach unless its their leather line.
In this case, I'd say go with the Coach bag. It's more timeless

The Coach one look blah to me.
I really like the plaid one, its a good spring/fall bag when you are in between colors. Not a fan of the price.

If I HAD to pick one, I'd go with the Coach. Not a fan of that Burberry pattern at all, or any pattern for that matter.
